The interim test (TTT): what it is and why it helps

What happens during a TTT

The interim test looks almost exactly like the practical exam: a real CBR examiner, a similar route and the same manoeuvres. The difference is that there is no pass or fail — you receive a detailed assessment instead.

Why it matters

• You experience the exam procedure once before it counts.
• Nerves drop dramatically on exam day because nothing is unfamiliar.
• If your special manoeuvre is judged sufficient, it is credited and skipped at the exam.
• You and your instructor get an outside opinion on what still needs work.

When to take it

Usually around two thirds of the way through your course, when you can drive routes independently but still have time to work on feedback.

Which package includes it?

The interim test is included in our Manual and Automatic packages. The Combi package contains two full CBR practical exams instead — the automatic exam acts as your rehearsal with a real examiner — and the Intensive package includes a retake exam, because an extra CBR appointment would delay your planning. You can always add an interim test separately: you pay the CBR fee plus the lesson time, and we tell you the exact cost upfront.

Can I fail the interim test?

No. It is an assessment, not an exam. You always continue your course afterwards.

Is the TTT compulsory?

No, but it measurably improves first-time pass rates, so it is standard in our Manual and Automatic packages.

Does it replace part of the exam?

Yes, a sufficient manoeuvre score is credited at your practical exam.
